About the course

Swale Borough Council runs the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health’s (CIEH) Foundation Certificate in Food Safety (Level 2) which provides your staff with the necessary training to prepare and handle food safely. Courses are tutored by experienced staff from our Food and Safety Team and they’re held at Swale House in Sittingbourne.

We recommend that you complete the Foundation Certificate in Food Safety (Level 2) before you start handling food that you’re preparing for the public or others.

You’ll need to pay £65 to take the course.


To apply for the Foundation Certificate in Food Safety (Level 2) course, you’ll need to email our Food and Safety team on You should include:
