Stray Dog Advice

Following the government’s guidance, we’ve introduced restrictions to our stray dog service to minimise contact with residents and help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Reporting a stray dog

You can report a stray dog by calling our customer service or stray dog teams. We encourage you to provide as much information about the dog as you can, including a photo if you it’s possible.

You can call our Customer Service Team to report a stray dog on 01795 417850 between:

  • 9am and 5pm, Monday to Thursday
  • 9am and 4.30pm on Fridays

Alternatively, you can call our Stray Dog Team on 07795237479 between:

  • 5.30pm and 9pm, Monday to Friday
  • 9am and 9pm Saturdays and Sundays

Following your call, we may ask you to send us any photos you have of the dog to our stray dogs Facebook page so we can try to reunite it with its owners as quickly as possible while we’re trying to minimise our contact with residents.

Visiting homes

We will only visit your home to collect a stray dog during normal office hours and we’ll consider social distancing guidance when we do. We won’t enter your home to collect a stray dog during this time.
