Air Quality Warning this Weekend

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is warning that areas of moderate and higher air pollution levels are possible across the southern half of England this weekend.

Due to the present measures for people to stay at home, it is likely to result in somewhat lower pollution levels than indicated.

Further information on pollution levels in your area can be found on the air pollution forecast on the Defra website.

Defra advise that adults and children with lung problems, adults with heart problems, older people and those with asthma should reduce/avoid strenuous physical activity - particular outdoors - when air pollution is higher than normal. People with asthma may find they need to use their reliever inhaler more often.

More detailed advice is available on the Defra website.

Further information on air pollution levels can also be found on the Kent air quality website www.kentair.org.uk.
