Former Swale councillor Lynd Taylor has died aged 77.

Mr Taylor moved down to Sheppey from London in 2008 and quickly became involved with the local community by setting up two senior citizens clubs.

He chaired the Big Local Eastern Sheppey Partnership from 2017 and was ward councillor for Sheppey East, and sat on Swale Council’s Scrutiny Committee, from 2018 to 2019.

Mr Taylor passed away on Sunday, 13 February.

Cllr Paul Stephen, Mayor of Swale, said:

“On behalf of Swale Council, I would like to offer my condolences to the family and friends of former councillor Lynd Taylor who has sadly passed away.

“Lynd enjoyed his short term as ward councillor for Sheppey East from 2018 to 2019 and was an active member of the community until the time of his passing.

“Lynd will be sorely missed by all that knew him.”
