We have now ended the emergency situation for the water shortage on the Isle of Sheppey as the water supply has now returned for all customers.
We worked with Southern Water, who were the lead agency, and other partners this week to support residents through the water shortage.
We redeployed around 30 members of our staff from their day jobs to help on the ground and work behind the scenes co-ordinating logistics.
We want to say a huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers who have helped this week working in shifts to hand out water and deliver to vulnerable residents.
The water collection sites have now closed, however we do have large metal bins available on-site for the empty plastic bottles. This will help save room in recycling bins and help save our crews time in the heat when they collect the blue bins next week.
The bins can be found at:
Sports Direct, Neats Court Retail Park, Thomsett Way ME11 5JS
Leysdown Bootfair, Leysdown Road ME12 4LR
Tesco, Bridge Road, Sheerness ME12 1RH
