Guidance on fitting extra equipment to a Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Vehicle
Extra equipment, including roof racks or tow bars, must meet certain regulations and be inspected by us before it’s fitted.
Wheelchairs
If you’re fitting equipment for lifting wheelchairs, you’ll need to provide a certificate to prove it has been tested so it meets the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (S.I. 1988/2307) regulations.
