Conservation Areas Review for Borden and Tonge

We're required to review our conservation areas from time to time to ensure that they still retain the special character and appearance that warrants an additional level of planning control through the conservation area designation.

Assuming they still require additional planning control, we're also required to see whether any changes are needed in the way in which each respective conservation area is managed.

As a key element of our recently adopted borough-wide Heritage Strategy, there is now a commitment to reviewing all of the borough’s conservation areas on a rolling basis, and in light of this, we're consulting on the draft character appraisal and management plan documents produced in relation to a review of the four Borden Parish conservation areas, and Tonge conservation area.
