Burial Fees

There is no charge for the burial of a child’s coffin, under the age of 18.

Sittingbourne, Faversham or Murston

You’ll need to pay:

  • £1,933 for the first burial or £963 if you’ve already brought a grave but haven’t used it
  • £796 for a second burial
  • £658 for a third burial

You’ll need to pay £160 extra for a large coffin or casket which measures 30 inches or more, including handles.

Isle of Sheppey

You’ll need to pay:

  • £1,773 for the first burial or £796 if a grave was already purchased but it wasn’t used
  • £658 for a second burial

You’ll need to pay £160 extra for a large coffin or casket which measures 30 inches or more, including handles.

Burying cremated remains

You’ll need to pay:

  • £594 for the first burial or £216 if you’ve already brought a grave but haven’t used it
  • £216 for a second, third or fourth burial
  • £100 for the burial of loose ashes

Other services

You’ll need to pay:

  • £62 for the issue of a letter of confirmation where deed is lost
  • £87 for the use of the chapel in Sittingbourne
  • £118 for the use of the chapel in Faversham
  • £118 per year for a planted grave
  • £62 to transfer the ownership of a grave
  • £31 per grave for grave search and certificate
  • £1,600 to exhume a coffin
  • £297 to exhume cremated remains

Fees for a turfed grave and additional services are charged at cost price.
