Larissa Reed – Chief Executive
Welcome to Swale Borough Council, I am so pleased that you chose us to work with. I hope this guide will give you an idea of what is it like to work in Swale and give you an insight in how you can contribute to ensure we deliver the best services possible to all our residents
Councils and all public services are going through major changes in response to a range of issues such as cuts to budgets, increased demand on many of our services, greater expectations of residents and visitors and the need to work with many different partners to deliver what our communities want and need.
Swale is an amazing council to work for and whilst our resources have reduced as a result of cuts in funding, we remain committed to deliver an ambitious programme of regeneration and service improvement. We have a fantastic staff team who bring experience, energy and talent and I believe that you joining us will build on this strong foundation. Every member of the Swale team has a critical part to play in achieving our ambitions
We will only achieve the results we are aiming for by working together and supporting each other. In return for your commitment, you can expect to be paid fairly, be given the training and support to excel in your role. You will also have a voice which can make real change to how we work. We aim to create a flexible, positive environment where our teams thrive, and where you will understand how your role fits into the organisation and understand the value you bring to Swale.
Working for a council has many challenges, but we feel that together we can really make a positive impact on people’s lives, we are proud of what we achieve, and I hope that you will share that pride and feel proud to be part of Swale Borough Council. I really look forward to meeting you in person and I hope you enjoy you enjoy the challenges and opportunities that our organisation offers.
