Remains of a historic wall at Brick Boundary Wall on the North side of Gatefield Lane, enclosing the Vicarage Garden

A garden and boundary wall on the North side of this ancient pedestrian right of way. Constructed of locally made, mixed red and yellow stock bricks of at least four ages and incorporating a blocked gateway. Laid in an irregular bond, one length of wall is constructed in red bricks of an unusually large size that has not been found elsewhere in Faversham and which must be extremely rare, if not unique. The significance of this wall lies partly in its bricks, partly in its townscape value and partly in its marking of ancient property boundaries and entrances which pre-date the Edwardian house to which it now belongs.
