To apply for a temporary licence, you’ll need to:

Once you’ve completed your application form, you’ll need to email it our Taxi Licensing team at taxis@swale.gov.uk, together with the vehicle’s log book, MOT certificate and the results of an approved garage inspection as well as proof of insurance.

Pay the fee

You’ll need to pay £40 to apply for a temporary licence. You can pay for your licence online. You’ll need:

  • your existing vehicle’s licence number
  • a debit or credit card

What happens next

Once we’ve received your application and fee, we’ll process it. If your application is successful, we’ll let you know when your vehicle plate is ready to be fitted.
