Swale Borough Council has opened two new toilet blocks at Beachfields in Sheerness and Barton's Point Coastal Park.

The new toilet blocks are part of the council's ongoing investment in improving facilities at the two popular locations.

The Beachfields block has a green roof to support biodiversity and provides male, female, and disabled cubicles.

Cubicles at the Barton's Point block include shower facilities to support the future leisure operator at the site as well as a sluice room for campers to wash up and empty chemical toilets.

Councillor Monique Bonney, chair of the property and regeneration committee at the council, said:

“It’s great to see these much-needed facilities installed and operating, and we hope they will be appreciated by visitors and locals alike.

“These are popular areas we want to encourage people to visit and have fun, so it was important to us to invest in the kinds of facilities that people expect.

“There’s a lot of work being done to improve both areas and these new toilets will make a real difference to the experience of visitors to the sites.”

The toilet blocks are open from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.
