Conservation Areas

This Conservation Area Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) describes the purpose of conservation area designation and the implications for people living within a conservation area, when considering alterations to their property.

Any type of work within a conservation area, including alterations outside in the garden, or to a tree, may require planning permission and it's recommended to ask for pre-application advice first.

The Conservation Area SPG is a material consideration in the determination of planning applications.
