When to get advice

The pre-application advice service is designed to help applicants:

  • Establish if the development is likely to be granted planning permission
  • How the development is affected by planning policies and law
  • Frontload planning applications and resolve issues with the proposal
  • What other information may need to be include with the application

It is advisable to provide as much information on the proposal as possible.  When submitting a pre-application you should include:

  • Draft drawings and plans
  • Site location plan
  • Photographs, this is especially important when applying for advice on listed buildings
  • A full description of the proposal
  • Design & Assess Statement

If you are looking for more general advice additional information is available on the Planning Portal
