Stray Dog Policy

Our Stray Dog Policy details the scope of the council's responsibilities in respect of the successful control of stray dogs.

We have responsibility under The Environmental Protection Act 1990 to collect stray dogs. A stray dog is any dog out on its own wandering around streets, roads or parks.

It is an offence to let your dog stray, or roam in public places unaccompanied.
