Pay or Appeal a Parking Fine
Appeal
You can appeal a parking fine online. You’ll need:
- your vehicle’s registration
- the eight digit Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) number, which starts with either SW or KL
What happens next
Once we’ve received your appeal, we’ll review it and write to you with our decision.
If your appeal isn’t successful, you’ll have 14 days from the date you received our decision to pay the fine with 50% off.
If you still haven’t paid within 28 days of receiving the fine, you’ll receive a Notice to Owner. You’ll then have another 28 days to pay the fine in full or make a formal challenge against the Notice to Owner.
Formal challenge
To make a formal challenge against the Notice to Owner, you’ll need to email parking@swale.gov.uk. You’ll need to include:
- your vehicle’s registration
- the eight digit Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) number, which starts with either SW or KL
If your formal challenge isn’t successful, you:
- will receive a Notice of Rejection
- can appeal to the Traffic Tribunal
