Upcoming elections and referendums

Two by-elections are due to take place on Tuesday 3 September.

On Tuesday 3 September 2024, there will be a by-election for a vacancy of Borough Councillor in Priory Ward and 2 vacancies for Parish Councillor at Borden Parish Council.

Tuesday 6 August	Candidate nomination deadline, 4pm
Thursday 15 August	Register to vote deadline, midnight
Friday 16 August	Postal vote, including cancellation, amendment deadline, 5pm
Friday 23 August	Proxy vote deadline, 5pm
Friday 23 August	Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) deadline, 5pm
Tuesday 3 September	Emergency proxy application deadline, 5pm
Tuesday 3 September	Temporary Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) deadline, 5pm
Tuesday 3 September	Polling day

Candidates

Candidate nomination packs for the upcoming by-elections are available from the Electoral Commission.

The deadline for submitting nominations is 4pm on Tuesday 6 August 2024. Nominations must be submitted by hand and a prior appointment should be arranged by contacting elections@swale.gov.uk or phoning 01795 417558.
