Apply for a licence
Use this service to apply for a licence to hire horses including stables and riding schools.
Before you get started
You can apply for a licence to hire horses online. You’ll need:
- a description of the accommodation provided for the horses
- the name and address of the premises
- your date of birth
What happens next
Once you've sent us your application, you'll need to pay an administration fee of £282.
To pay your administration fee, you'll need to call our customer service team on 01795 417850.
Once you've paid
If your application is successful, you'll receive:
- an inspection from our inspection officer and an independent vet
- a risk rating score, following your inspection
- an invoice for your licence, based on your risk rating
When you receive your invoice, you can pay it online.
