One of the High Sheriff of Kent’s key priorities this year is championing the rehabilitation of individuals serving custodial sentences. The aim is clear: to reduce reoffending, prevent further victims of crime and create pathways to employment. In collaboration with HM Prisons in Kent we are hosting a Forum for Employers and Business Leaders.
Education, secure housing, and meaningful employment are widely recognised as essential in breaking the cycle of offending. Prison Governors will highlight the initiatives currently underway in Kent’s prisons, alongside the community businesses stepping forward to support people as they prepare to rebuild their lives.
