Dog Control Measures
This consultation closes on 4 September.
We're asking for your views on the proposed renewal of our dog control Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO).
The consultation will help us understand whether the current restrictions remain necessary, effective and proportionate.
The existing PSPOs help promote responsible dog ownership and include restrictions in certain public spaces, such as requiring dogs to be kept on leads where specified, excluding dogs from designated areas, and requiring owners to clear up after their dogs. These measures are intended to ensure that public spaces remain safe, clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Residents, businesses, visitors and community groups are invited to provide their views before any decisions are made. Consultation responses will be considered alongside operational evidence and local feedback.
The Council is required to consult with Town and Parish Councils, residents, businesses and communities affected by the restrictions within the designated areas.
Please ensure you have read the current dog control, and the dog fouling order and reviewed the maps too, before completing the consultation.
