Street Drinking Control Zones

We're asking for your views on the proposed renewal of its Street Drinking Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).
The existing PSPO helps address alcohol-related anti-social behaviour in designated public spaces by providing authorised officers and police with powers to require individuals to stop drinking alcohol and surrender alcohol where their behaviour is causing, or is likely to cause, nuisance, harassment, alarm or distress to others. These measures are intended to help ensure that public spaces remain safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.
We're reviewing the current order to determine whether it remains necessary, effective and proportionate. Residents, businesses, visitors and community groups are invited to provide their views before any decisions are made.
Your feedback will help shape the future management of measures to address alcohol-related anti-social behaviour across Swale.
