Use this service to transfer an existing premises licence to someone else.

If the premises has a licensed premises gaming machine permit, you'll need to transfer that too.

Before you get started

To transfer the licence, you’ll need to:

The existing premises licence holder will also need to download, complete and return the consent form (PDF 20KB).

You can make the payment to transfer a premises licence online.

Once you've complete the application and consent forms, email them to licensing@swale.gov.uk.

Gaming machines

To transfer a licensed premises gaming machine permit, you'll need to:

  • download, complete and return an application form
  • pay a fee

What happens next

Your application will be sent to Kent Police for consultation. They have 14 days to comment.

If they submit an objection to your application, then we will hold a hearing of the licensing panel to determine your application.

If the licensing panel have no objections, the licence will be issued with the appropriate amendments.

Once we’ve received your application, we’ll send you an invoice to pay the fee. You’ll need to pay this before we can process your application.

The licence will lapse again if:

  • we reject your transfer application
  • you with your transfer application
