Limited waiting bays
Chapters in this topic
Introduction to limited waiting bays
Limited waiting bays are parking bays that typically include several parking restrictions that apply at particular times. For example, a limited waiting bay could include a restriction which only allows parking for up to 1 hour, with no return within 2 hours, between the hours of 6am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
Limited waiting bays are usually installed near shops and in town centres to allow short-term parking to visit shops or businesses.
Fees
There’s no charge for installing a limited waiting bay or removing an existing one.
Parking
Information about when and or how long you can park in a limited waiting bay is shown on the signage.
How long it takes
Because we'd need to make changes to existing regulations, it can take around 12 months to install a limited waiting bay or remove an existing one.
Each application will be assessed individually and available funds.
