We are very sorry to all those affected by delays to waste, recycling and garden collections as the crews get used to new routes and vehicles. Please report any missed collections within two days so we can work with Suez to improve the service.

Environmental Permits

You may need an environmental permit from us under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 if your premises use machinery or processes that produce or handle harmful substances like dry cleaners, petrol station or cement works .

For more information about the types of permit, when you'll need one and who you'll need to apply to, visit GOV.UK.

If you don’t get a permit, you could receive a fine or be sent to prison.

An environmental permit lasts until it’s:

  • surrendered
  • revoked

The fee you’ll pay will depend on the:

  • type of operation you’re carrying out
  • the risk your facility presents
  • the number of permits you need

Annual fee

You’ll need to pay an annual fee to help us maintain your permit, which includes routinely reviewing it. The fee you’ll pay will depend on the type of operation you’re carrying out and the risk your facility presents.

If you don't pay your annual fee on time, you could receive a late payment fee of £52.
