Requesting a CCTV camera
We do not accept direct requests from members of the public for a CCTV camera to be installed however, if you’ve been the victim of crime or anti-social behaviour on several occasions within the same area and you’ve reported incidents to the Police or the Community Safety Unit, you can contact the officer handling your case to discuss the installation of a temporary, mobile CCTV camera.
Using your own CCTV to Protect your property
If your CCTV system captures footage of individuals outside your property, this will be subject to the Data Protection Act .
However, even if your CCTV system only captures footage on your property, you should use CCTV in a responsible way to protect the privacy of others.
