Business rate relief
Relief for businesses in hardship
If your business is experiencing financial difficulties, you may be eligible for a reduction on your business rates.
Before you get started
To make an application for hardship rate relief you’ll need to download the application for hardship rate relief (PDF 171kb). You'll need:
- your business rates reference number
- the address of your premises
Once you've completed your application, you'll need to email it to our business rates team at ndr@swale.gov.uk.

What happens next
Once we’ve received your application form we’ll assess the information you’ve provided and let you know the decision within 21 days.
