Advice for landlords on renting a property


If we inspect your properties, we’ll use the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) which helps us assess any health and safety risks to tenants.

There are two categories of hazard - category one and category two. If we find that your property contains any category one hazards, we could take emergency action and issue you with a statutory notice to undertake further work.  We'll recover any costs we incur.

If you ignore a statutory notice, you could receive a fine of up to £30,000.
