Renting or hiring a Beach Hut
Use this service if you want to rent or hire a beach hut. There is a separate process if you want to buy one instead.
You can rent a beach hut for a year at a time, or hire one for a week.
Hire a beach hut
To hire a beach hut for a week, you'll need to pay £125.
Beach hut hires start at 12 noon on the Monday, and end at 8pm on the following Sunday.
You can ask if one of the hire beach huts are available, online.
If a beach hut is available we'll let you know.
You'll need to pay your hire fee within 3 working days if you accept our offer of a weekly hire beach hut. If you don't we may make it available again to other applicants.
When your weekly hire starts
Weekly hires are secured using a key and a combination lock. We'll give you the key and the code to the combination lock when you start your rental.
If you loose your keys or the code to the lock during normal office hours, call 01795 417850.
If you loose your keys or the code to the lock outside the following hours, call 01795 383099:
- after 5pm or before 9am, Monday to Thursday
- after 1pm on Friday
- at the weekend
- on Bank Holidays
Annual rentals
To rent a beach hut for a year, you'll need to:
- join the beach hut waiting list and pay your £20 waiting list fee
- pay the annual rent, and a key deposit if you accept the offer of a beach hut
Once you've joined the beach hut waiting list, we'll contact you if a beach hut becomes available.
When your annual rental starts
Annual rentals are secured using keys. We'll give you the key to your beach hut when you start your rental.
If you loose your keys or the code to the lock during normal office hours, call 01795 417850.
If you loose your keys or the code to the lock outside the following hours, call 01795 383099:
- after 5pm or before 9am, Monday to Thursday
- after 1pm on Friday
- at the weekend
- on Bank Holidays
When a beach hut becomes available
You'll have two weeks to accept our offer of a beach hut. If you don't reply to us within two weeks, we may offer it to someone else.
If you accept the offer of a beach hut, you'll need to pay the annual rent of £1,650, and a £35 key deposit.
You can pay your key deposit online. We'll invoice you for the rent separately.
You can pay the invoice for the rent online when you receive it.
Paying your rent
The annual rental cost of beach huts is reviewed each year.
You'll receive an invoice for your rent once a year. You'll receive your first invoice when you accept our offer of a beach hut.
